Café Spice are a trio who create heavenly autumnal harmonies reminiscent of Mamas & Papas whilst also sitting with the effortlessly sublime indie-folk of contemporaries such as HAIM or The Staves.

From England, Ireland and Scotland, Café Spice are an indie-folk trio hailing from Manchester. The trio was born over a love of singing in harmony, beautiful songs, plain naan and sausage rolls on a wet and windy night in a curry house in Glasgow called Café Spice.

2019 was a good year for the trio. Fresh off the back of their first two singles, they’ve been travelling up and down the country in Niamh’s tiny car playing gigs in a myriad of venues and places.

Having recently acquired a new drummer, the group are shaping up to be the ultimate girl band of their childhood dreams. Off the back of their latest single, Open Door into the world, a song of love lost and found, this unstoppable band are headed for an exciting 2020. The three musicians each bring their own individual styles spanning jazz, blues, pop, country, traditional folk and funk. The result is a fantastic fusion and mixing pot of genres; a new sound woven from singing, harmony and clever songwriting.

It’s not just the thoughtful songwriting and memorable tunes that make listening to Café Spice so wonderful, it’s the pleasure of watching them perform and feeling the joy that radiates from them almost warming your skin; it’s clear they love nothing more than singing together. Their fun loving and relaxed attitude on stage make any Café Spice gig a delight to attend.

Support for Café Spice is being provided by the Old Stables favourite, Ben Cipolla. With his luxuriant voice, imaginative song writing and infectious personality, Ben never fails to entertain.

What a great way to start 2020!
