British born singer-songwriter and musician Matt Owens first came to prominence as a founder member of indie-folk band Noah and the Whale. Releasing four albums, Noah and the Whale achieved huge success in the UK and overseas, selling over one million albums in the UK alone.

The band toured the world between 2006 and 2015, playing hundreds of festivals, including Austin City Limits, Fuji Rocks and Lollapalooza, as well as touring with the likes of Arcade Fire, Bahamas, and Laura Marling.

In 2016 Matt formed the band Little Mammoths, releasing the critically acclaimed debut album Phantom Dreams. The band tours the UK and Ireland on a regular basis, and was invited to play an unprecedented 6 sets at the 2017 Glastonbury Festival.

2018 will see the release of Matt’s debut solo album, "Whiskey and Orchids". It is an album that oozes Americana with its campfire storytelling told mainly on acoustic guitar and piano, reflecting the songwriting skills of some of Matt’s favourite artists Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell and Warren Zevon.

Acclaimed musician and producer Nigel Stonier has produced Matt's album and will be joining us at The Old Stables. Support comes from the amazing Nigel Stonier - a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, producer, festival programmer…there is no end to his talents.  As an artist he has released 6 studio albums which have received radio play on Radio 2, BBC6 and widespread regional play.
As a performer, Stonier has graced stages with Martha Wainwright , Thea Gilmore and Clare Teal to name a few. He has written and produced for Fairport Convention, Lindisfarne, Paul Young (Mike and the Mechanics), Sandi Thom and he is long term production/writing for Thea Gilmore. He has collaborated with Mike Scott (The Waterboys) and in 2016 Stonier collaborated with Robert Plant, Gretchen Peters, Rosanne Cash and Mary Gauthier on a track to commemorate the 70th birthday of iconic TV and radio presenter Bob Harris.

This promises to be an amazing night.
